A large late 17th century Japanese octagonal Arita blue and white vase, circa 1680. The vase is of octagonal baluster form, boldly painted with rocks and large blossoming foliage composed around the entire body within stylized borders. This vase has exceptionally good dark and light blue glaze saturation as well as virtuoso decoration stylistically typical of this period. As the vase has a hairline crack and a reduced neck we have made it into a fabulous lamp. It has a handmade wood octagonal gilded lid and a hand-turned gilded base.

A large late 17th century Japanese octagonal Arita blue and white vase, circa 1680. A Regency black painted plaster standing female figure light by Humphrey Hopper depicted in classical dress, holding aloft a candle light with etched floral glass shade, on a circular base. The shade replaced. Signed and Dated on the back of the base “N 18-1809” and “H”. Humphrey Hopper (1765-1844) may have started his career as a mason. He completed his education as a mature man of 36 by enrolling in the Royal Academy Schools in February 1801 to study sculpture. He was a successful student, winning a silver medal in December 1802.

A large early 18th century Dutch Delft blue and white octagonal vase, Lamped. Depicting Chinese courtiers, one of which riding a battle horse, in a rocky landscape. Several comparable example at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Holland. Lamped and mounted on a hand carved and hand gilt wooden base, fitted with antiqued brass plate with UK fittings, brown silk flex and black UK plug. Can be converted for EU or US use. Lampshades are not included.

Early 18th century Dutch Delft Blue and White Octagonal Vase, Lamped

A very large Japanese Imari vase of exceptional decorative quality dating from, circa 1700-1720. Each of the three main panels on the body of the vase depicts different varieties of flowers such as peonies, carnations and chrysanthemums. The lid is a European copy of the original made to replace the, presumably, broken, original. We think it was made in the early 19th century and we assume that the vase must have had a prestigious provenance considering the cost of making a lid to match in such quality. The vase stands on an associated 20th century hand-carved and gilt wooden base.

Exceptional Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Vase, circa 1700

An outstanding early Georgian carved giltwood and gesso mirror with an 18th century mirror plate set within a carved and moulded border flanked by three carved plumes or Prince of Wales feathers. The shaped apron centred by a large shell.
