18th Century Japanese Imari Porcelain Vase with Lid

This large Japanese Imari vase, dating from circa 1700, features an unusual decoration depicting two large quails perching on a tree branch on a blue background with hexagons panels depicting butterflies and stylized flowers. The lid depicting same geometric patterns and surmounted by a trunk shaped finial with a small quail resting on it. Condition: The vase is perfect; the lid has restorations to the border. Rare, unusually decorated vase with elegant mellow colors, very decorative.
