The sitter is attractively portrayed wearing a red waistcoat trimmed with gold braid under a brown great coat. He is also wearing a lace neck cloth and his tricorn hat is tucked under his arm. A Tall late 17th Century Japanese Octagonal Arita Blue and White Vase circa 1680. The vase is of octagonal baluster form, boldly painted with phoenixes and large blossoming intricate foliage of hydrangea and peonies rocks and branches around the body within stylised borders. Good dark blue colours, excellent loose decoration stylistically typical of this period and in excellent condition. a chip on the rim of about 3 cm has been professionally restored.

Finely painted in typical Imari palette with underglaze blue on white background and overglaze gold and red floral decoration with elaborate panels depicting birds and shishi lions. 17th Century Period Dutch Brass Chandelier

A really fine pair of early 18th century Japanese richly decorated imari baluster vases. The very unusual decoration of cooing and Billing birds is most unusual. Lamped on hand-carved and water gilt wooden bases. Both vases have been fitted with antiqued brass plates with light fittings. Typical imari colours: Tomato red, blue, black, orange and gilt highlights. One of the vases is perfect the other has a hairline crack.The custom-made lampshades (Claremont fabric) may sold separately at an additional price.

Really Fine Pair of Early 18th Century Japanese Imari Lamped Vases

A thickly potted and massive early 18th century Japanese Imari vase, circa 1700 showing a plethora of Kara Shi Shi Dogs, ducks and birds of paradise. All set in a landscape of reeds and foliage. Decorated throughout with enormous swirling abstract patterns. The overall palette is softly muted blue, red and green glazes with gilded highlights.

Early 18th Century Japanese Octagonal Imari Vase

The Elbogen porcelain factory was founded on the Austrian / Czech border in 1815 by Rudolf K and Eugen K Haidinger. It was named Haideinger Brothers Porcelain Factory in Elbogen, and was also known as Vienna Porcelain and Earthenware Factory. The factory was located in the Czech city of Loket, which was known as Elbogen whilst under Austrian rule. Like Samson of France, the Elbogen workshops produced a number of designs in the eighteenth century manner inspired by Chinese and European models.
